Since the first release, PicsEngine has tremendously evolved his usability and his features. A lot of things are going to change again for you.
First, PicsEngine 4 will no longer use Flash. Flash is no more necessary to create a sexy photo gallery. PicsEngine will be based on open technologies : HTML, CSS and Javascript. This gallery is lightweighter, quicker and doesn’t depend on any plugin anymore. PicsEngine 4 is very easy-to-use and beautiful. Here are some screenshots of the currently running PicsEngine 4.
Secondly, PicsEngine 4 will be hosted by us. For now, you need a compatible webhoster to install PicsEngine. We think it’s to hard for some of you, hosters change their configuration and break PicsEngine, we can’t check the compatibility of PicsEngine on all hosters, updates are not applied by everybody. All those reasons make us believe that PicsEngine has to be hosted in one place to control every little part of it. No more installation, no more updates to do. PicsEngine will be updated for everybody at the same time.
Next, PicsEngine throw away his administration and become a single photo gallery. Why? Because we develop a new photo administration plateform of a quality which nobody has ever seen on the web. We will announce it later with the features list but here are some screenshots for you.
Finally, cherry on the cake. For experimented users that want host their photos and datas on their own server, an open-source data server will be available. Then, you just link up the server and our plateform. You really control your photos because they are hosted where you want. We think some of you really want that. Of course, for the others, we will host your photos.
Thanks for your support.
